The School Board

The "Association des Parents d'Elèves du Lycée Français International de Rangoun" (APER) was created on 10 January 2014 in Yangon. It works in close collaboration with the LFIR management team. It is the employer of most of the LFIR personnel. Its members were elected during the General Assembly.

The Class Council

The class Council is composed of the school Headmaster or his representative, the class teachers, two students representatives, and two delegates of the students’ parents. Parents are welcome to attend the Class Council. Please contact us if you wish to attend, we need more parents! 

 

The Class Council meets at the end of each quarter to monitor students' achievements and to make recommendations to help students in their work and study choices. It also analyses the pedagogical issues relevant to the class environment.

 

NOTE – Collège Graduation certificates for the third quarter will be signed by the Diplomatic Post until the school is certified by the French Ministry of Education.

The School Council

The School Council is an advisory council composed of the school headmaster, students representatives, Students’ parents representatives, and representatives of the APER.  It meets at least once per year and adopts:

  • The education plan
  • The school’s rules and procedures
  • School hours and calendar of the school year
  • The plan of ongoing training for the personnel
  • The annual education plan 

Based on a vote, it issues notices on the following:

  • Proposals for the evolution of the curriculum
  • The extracurricular activities program
  • Hygiene and safety issues for the entire school community
  • Issues regarding the welcoming of the parents, as well as the general terms and conditions of their participation in the life of the institution
  • The structure of educational life
  • Welcoming and taking care of students

The last School Council was held on November 17, 2016 and the next one will take place on the 16 November 2017 at 6:30 pm.

In accordance with Service Note No. 2015-090 of 17-6-2015 of MENESR – DGESCO B3-3, in Circular No. 001990 of 24-08-2015 of the AEFE, please find herewith information concerning the elections of the representatives of the students’ parents Board of Directors and representatives of the staff who will be held this year on:

 

Monday 16 October 2017 from 8 am to 5 pm.

 

The elections of the representatives of the parents of the pupils and the representatives of the staff correspond to an important operation in the life of our establishment. Your representatives are an essential link between you and the school. They share, among other things, their opinions and the information they give us to improve our operation. We rely on your participation and ask parents and staff who wish to apply to send us their list by Thursday 5 October 2017 at 3 pm.

School Council composition: 

12 seats:

  • 4 ex-officio members (The head of the diplomatic post of the French Embassy in Myanmar or his representative; The president of APER ; the school Headmaster; The Finance Director)
  • 4 personnel representatives
  • 4 parents representatives for the students (3 parents +1 student)

Preparation of the elections :

  • Parents: 2 seats in primary school, 1 seat in secondary school 

(Please remember that a list should count between 2 and 6 names. It should mix primary and secondary students' parents).

  • Students: 1 seat (Collège student)
  • Personnel representatives: 2 primary students' representatives, 1secondary students' representative and 1 administrative staff

The Students Council

The aim of the Student Council is to:

  • Give a voice to students so as to better consider their expectations and improve the studying conditions in school
  • Fostering and framing the students' expression (dialogues, exchanges, debates)
  • Allow students to take action
  • Foster student learning through school life and the exercise of citizenship
  • Involve students in the decision making process so they understand that the decisions made within the school are based on multiple constraints and often meet specific objectives
  • Encourage student Initiatives
  • Confront the students with the reality of the daily operation of the school
